One of the oldest traditions in Family Synergy is our annual Conference/Reunion. One weekend each year we get together to get reunited, catch up with old friends, meet new friends, learn something new, or just relax and have a good time.

For the first time in several years, all attendees will be able to stay in the same hotel, as long as we're willing to practice the "family" in Family Synergy. To that end, those members who are willing to share their room with an additional one or two people will be allocated the most desirable rooms, many of which are suites with separate bedroom and sleeper sofas in the living room. Almost all have kitchens, several of which are quite large and equipped with appliances and dishes. With 40 rooms, we can easily accommodate 80 members; with some sharing, up to 100. Our goal is to give all members who want to attend the opportunity to do so.

A new feature this year will be the option of adding additional nights before and/or after the conference at a discounted rate. Orchid Tree has offered HALF price ($50 to $130) additional days, up to 3 before or after, to registered Family Synergy members. If you're interested, call Orchid Tree at (800) 733-3435 no later than April 1 to reserve your additional nights and decide on the room type (price), then indicate on your Conference registration the extra nights and room type so that we can try to match it to your conference room assignment. Note: you will be paying Orchid directly for the additional nights; the additional days probably WILL NOT be clothing optional. The Conference Co-chairs, Bob & Carol, are thankful for the efforts of the Conference Committee: Fran, Tucker & Lise, Joe, & William, as well as to Sue, who visited several potential sites. We all owe a debt of gratitude to Joe Rivera, who has been our Internet surfing conference location scout extraordinaire for the third year in a row. We plan to maintain the same quality of food and educational activities as in past years, as well as provide fun activities and entertainment. The hotel is providing us with the services of full-time maintenance personnel to make our visit as enjoyable as possible.

It's going to be held at a beautifully restored hotel which was built in the 1930s--a historic location for a historic conference! The Orchid Tree Inn has enthusiastically welcomed us to their lovely hotel on the weekend of June 4, 5, and 6, 1999. Although Orchid Tree is not clothing-optional, the management has agreed to let us make it that way for the weekend. Both the rooms and the grounds are beautifully maintained, with many rooms retaining some of their original charming decor--with all modern conveniences having been added--and no two alike (see their web site at ). There are 3 pools and two large spas, a lodge at which our meals will be served buffet-style, and even a shuffleboard court (to be transformed into a dance floor on Saturday night). There is close parking to almost all rooms, only a few are upstairs, and it's located only one block from the downtown area.

To attend the conference, you must:
A) Be or become a member of Family Synergy,
B) Attend at least one event prior to the Conference.
C) Send in a Conference Registration (from your Newsletter) and payment before the Conference.

Cost: $185 per person

Fee includes all meals, activities and housing. Fee priced on double occupancy (minimum) per room. Room assignments will be made by Family Synergy prior to the Conference and may require additional occupancy (subject to your approval). Room assignments will be made by number of attendees and registration postmark date. Most rooms are suites with separate living room, almost all have kitchens; smaller rooms will be assigned to late registrants.
